Experiencing Elspeth leave everyone and everything she loves (apart from Maruman and Gahltha) is a lot harder this reread

Trying to work out why Elspeth was repeating every single thing that happened in the last book and then remembered there was a 9 year gap between the two so we needed the help at the time lol

It actually doesn’t matter if you’ve forgotten anything from the past books – there’s enough exposition from Elspeth to wade through, and unfortunately it’s her character flaw to gnaw at things. Only 20 hours of listening time to go!

I’ve been meaning to reread this as soon as I finished the first time. It was a book that stuck with me, and with the sequel now on my shelf, it’s time. Reading again about the life Linus leads is significantly depressing (but there is hope).

Enjoying this throwback into vampires/werewolves way more than expected
