The mother in law is right: idleness is Madame Bovary's problem. She needs to work hard and keep her mind occupied on something other than herself.

End of part 1:
Emma remains discontent about everything which turns into her turning absolutely crazy. She is a deep warning for women to not be idle and to not envy.

So far we have a discontent woman and a man who loves her well. 🫤

End of Act 3. Watching the movie as I read and that has helped follow the play.

Reading with the kids for language arts. Very good story so far.

End of part 2. The plot is definitely picking up a good bit.

So far this book has a way of getting me a little bored with the story and then all of a sudden I'm shocked and can't stop reading! This has happened twice so far in the first 200 pages. The shocking parts are what is making this book so good. I cannot wait to see where he takes these characters.
