Listening to Matthew Desmond proselytize about poverty abolitionism is the sweet lullaby my central nervous system needs. It’s like going to church but for secular leftists. I have some misgivings about his continued flirtations with capitalism and flagrant disassociation with Marxism, regardless of whether these moves were for more mass appeal. Overall, though, highly recommended (especially the audio book!)
