Amy is starting Winter in Paradise
Loving this book. Wish it wasn’t part of a series because now I have to read the rest. What in the world is going on with Russ and Rosie. Are they dead? Are they alive? Will Ayer’s end up with one of the brothers? So many questions!

Amy is starting Speaking In Tongues
The book flowed well and included interesting dialogue. Characters were easy to keep track of. It wasn’t a whodunnit but more of a why. There were a couple of surprises and twists that did make me question what may have really been going on. Lots of development of the parental relationship. Overall , it was a good read. I would like to read more by this author to see if I enjoy his writing as a whole.

Amy
Amy is starting P is for Peril (Kinsey Millhone, #16)
Sue was too descriptive for my taste. And the end of this book had no end. It just stopped in the middle of the story as if someone had ripped the last few chapters out of the book. Two different storylines going on and neither was resolved. Big disappointment. Why do I keep giving these books another chance?

A good short story about orphan twins and their journey to their forever home. It was good for a quick read.

Amy is starting Come Sundown
Couldn’t finish it. It was set out west and I couldn’t get past the stereotypical dialogues and characters. Didn’t hold my attention at all. And I skipped to the end and I had picked up who the kidnapper was after he was first mentioned in the book.

Amy is starting The Cuckoo's Calling
I didn’t enjoy this book. The characters were hard to keep track of. Nothing flowed well. There was too much going on. The ending was anti-climatic. Just a disappointing book.

Amy is starting Six Years
Very well written. I liked the main character and the book constantly kept me asking “what is going on here?” Are they dead? Are they not dead? Does she love him if she’s still alive? Who are the bad guys? Are there aliens involved? Why does nobody know what’s going on? I look forward to reading more by the author.

Such a joy! I loved it. Very short and to the point. An easy read with fabulous character development and dialogue. I felt like I was right there for all of it.

Amy is starting Nemesis (FBI Thriller, #19)
Just. Ok. None of the characters were hateable, the descriptions were not overily done, nothing was really annoying. I did not like the two separate storylines going on (terrorist and then Wiccan witch mind control) that did not intersect at all. It did keep my interest at least.

Didn’t know when I started that this is the first book in a series. So there were lots of loose strings left at the end. It was enjoyable enough. The characters weren’t annoying and the plot kept me guessing. Definitely geared towards younger readers.

Amy
Amy is starting Hook, Line, and Sinker
I wish the author wouldn’t be so graphic with the sex. Her characters and dialogue kept my interest but the repetition of thoughts got really old. I felt like she kept rehashing the same things over and over. The amount of emotion and support that was betrayed seemed very over the top. So much focus on thoughts and emotions being repeated constantly is not for me. I really want to enjoy this author but can’t

I was not a huge fan. The female characters seemed shallow and the main character was a moron. The ending was anticlimactic. It was at least easy reading for the most part.

Not too bad. I liked the dialogue and plot and the twistiness. I would read more of his books. The heroine wasn’t a ditz and the love interest kept things interesting. A nice who dunnit but there were a lot of suspects to keep track of.

Loved loved loved this book. Great dialogue and characters and plot. I didn’t want it to end. Main character rooms with her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. The roommates pretend to be in love and end up loving each other. I want more Emily Henry!

Decided to give this author another shot. Nope. Just nope. I just can’t. She is WAY too detailed in her descriptions and that makes the story line take forever to develop. I tried, but I think I will bee getting rid of the rest of her books.

Amy is starting The Gold Eaters: A Novel
It was just ok. The ending was left open ended so you didn’t know exactly how it ultimately turned out. It was easy enough reading but I had to pay attention to character names and there was a lot of extra detail that slowed down the story for me. I won’t bother reading more from this author. Just not my jam.

Amy
Amy is starting N Is For Noose (Kinsey Millhone, #14)
This was ok. It somewhat kept my interest but the resolution at the end was rushed and abrupt. Didn’t feel like hints were dropped that would have lead to a guess of who did it. Many characters. Main character wasn’t well developed really. Wouldn’t be my first choice to read more of, but would if there was nothing else to read. Didn’t hate it at least.

Amy is starting City of Endless Night (Agent Pendergast Novels)
I enjoyed most of the book overall. Lots of guesses as to what was actually going on. But I was disappointed in the ending. The little side stories about the reporter and the zealot didn’t tie together well with the main storyline and the killer ultimately didn’t have a believable backstory. Too many non-climatic endings to the plots. I would still read more by these two.

Reporter returns to her hometown to cover the murders of two girls. It’s a twisty plot that makes you think you know what happened, when you really don’t. There was a nice twist at the end. Enjoyed the book.

Amy
Amy is starting All or Nothing
The main character romance was stereotypical rough around the edges guy and rich, high maintenance woman. Thought this would be a who dunnit based on the first part of the book but it turned into more of track down the perp story at the end. The two half’s didn’t flow well together. The villain development wasn’t very believable. Would still give this author another try.

Amy is starting Ghost Image: A Novel
Very good book. I had no idea which direction the author was going with it. It had me theorizing all kinds of crazy outcomes. It lost me at the end. It felt like it resolved abruptly after a large build up. The main character’s mental health did not play the role in the story that I thought it would. I thought there would be a big twisty reveal at the end, but there wasn’t.

Amy is starting Last Seen Alone
Really enjoyed the writing style. It was the perfect amount of dialogue to description. The relationship part wasn’t too trashy but was described so that you felt the feelings. I would have liked a little more twist to the plot. The ending and who did it were very straightforward. Having something come out of nowhere would have made it more enjoyable. Read more of this author.

Amy is starting Dean R. Koontz: Odd Hours (Mass Market Paperback); 2009 Edition
Did not enjoy this whatsoever. Way too much description and not enough plot development or dialogue. The Odd character’s mannerisms did not match or gel with the general description of him. The resolution at the end was anticlimactic and I still don’t understand the very last paragraph or what kind of meaning this story was supposed to have. Disappointing.
