This is just as enjoyable as her other book I just read…and sadly just as badly edited!

I'm slightly reeling at the introduction of the "Wolfy race" and trying not to laugh in the wrong way…because otherwise it's all going rather well…

Very nearly saw the twist coming: I knew it would be something like that, all those little hints couldn't be dropping themselves for nothing, but the specifics still came as a nicely nasty surprise ^_^

I'm wondering whether anyone is even trying to find the bad guy, or are they just hoping he'll keep his "promise" if they bring him what he wants.

…wondering how long it will take the protagonist to connect the dots…on the one hand a case involving missing girls…on the other a smuggling ring who need sedatives and cages for whatever they are transporting…on the gripping hand she is in hospital recovering from major surgery (again) so I can cut her some slack this time…

So "Magus" is a scumbag and nobody dares to call him out on it…just one more thing which makes me suspicious of how much I already hate him…

How close do you have to be to someone to see what colour their eyes are?

Oh, and for someone who is supposedly OCD about not attracting attention, this girl has some funny ways of going about that…

Only one minor niggle so far: is it really that difficult to distinguish between "pursuing a new tack" and "pursuing a new tact"? One is correct, one is so not…

Not exactly sure how H P Lovecraft is "steampunk", and some of the others are a bit of a stretch also, but fun nonetheless…
