Chapter 5. Don Quixote goes back home, carried by the finely of his neighbor who found him. Don Quixote’s family is worried that he’s been missing and vows to burn the books on chivalry which drive home mad.

Chapter 4. Don Quixote tries to help a youth being punished by his employer, the farmer. After telling the farmer to pay the youth, he simply leaves assuming that he will do what is right. Instead the farmer beats the youth up more forcefully than before. Don Quixote is idealistic but the world around him is evidently not.

Chapter 3. Don Quixote defends his armor and in doing so injures innocent bystanders. The innkeeper, desperate to be rid of him, makes Don Quixote into a night through a dubious process, and our hero departs, beginning his journey.

Chapter 2. Don Quixote refuses to take off his helmet and is very distressed when he realizes that he is not in fact a knight.

Chapter One - very humorous and fun so far! I find the emphasis on names to be interesting. Don Quixote seems to feel the need to rename himself, as well as his horse and future lady. In order to presume the role of the knight, he must reinvent himself. The name is hollow, though, since he hasn’t actually done anything deserving of the title of a knight yet.
