Haldeman is very hit and miss. As with the Coen Brothers movies, in a vast body of work, there are very few passable nuggets that work for me, and this trilogy isn't one of them.

I'm probably giving up on this. Moran's heart is clearly no longer in his writing. The 3 three books of THE CONTINUING TIME saw a constant expansion of the scope of the story; with THE BIG BOOST it narrowed down again, and with THE GREAT GODS, we've skipped too far into the future and completely lost our connection with the characters we were invested in, but that DKM obviously does not want to write about any more

Ewing needs an artist. His straight text isn't that great.

Honestly, I've given up on this one. Moran skipped too far ahead in his timeline and we lost all connection to the characters I was interested in.

Finished this long ago. Not bad but Moran had been widening the scope of his story in the previous installments and he has dramatically narrowed it in this one.
