- __ - this is kind of annoying the author is so needlessly defensive and uncritical of the genre... one minute she's saying that romance is "misunderstood" as formulaic and that this is just prejudice/haters and then she goes on to claim that a romance novel must meet 8 criteria to be classified as a "true" romance... THAT'S LITERALLY A FORMULA...
