Warlocks too?

What the heck am I reading? Vampires? Magic? Guns? I'm so confused. I feel like too much is trying to happen. I will give it a little more but this might be a DNF.

But...but...but Jem. That's all the mention he gets in this book?!

I'm finding the treatment of female characters in this book problematic. I just finished the part where two men sexually assault a nurse. I just can't even... the men weren't punished. All females in book so far have been described in only sexual terms. This book is quickly losing its likability for me.

She starts off her book by talking about the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird." The movie, guys, the movie not the book. That really bothers me as a avid reader.

I'm listening to the audiobook, I'm about three hours in. All I can think is.... How did she not die on this trip?

There is so much cussing and sex. I don't want to know the mind of a teenage boy.

What?! There is finally some action in this book and it's happening in the last 5% of the book. The payoff is not worth the build up. 😬😕

And John Gault is still talking he has now been talking for two hours. Is anybody even listening to him anymore? He needs to stop preaching.... I mean talking.

John Gault voice is coming through the tv. I would have turned off the tv. He's been speaking for a like an hour. Who is even listening at that point. Yawn.

Did not see the weird love triangle coming.

Ayn Rand has used the phrase "productive rich" isn't that an oxymoron?

I'm listening to the audiobook. I'm 15 hrs into this 60 hr book and already wanting it to be done. Also the relationship between Dagney Tagert and Hank bothers me deeply. I liked Dagney at first. I was excited for a strong female character but in reality she seems to have no actual self respect to be used by a man at his whim, with no commitment, no expression of feeling. Lost all respect I had for her after that.

This book seems to have more cursing than the other books. More than I think there should be in a teen book. Also I feel like Ember should have more side effects from almost having her memories erased. I just finished a part where her and Garrett were talking about the beach and she remembers everything. Umm hello last book it got erased. Too many inconsistencies.
