I got really invested in Nalia's story, poor girl. Can we get a happy ending for her? She'll be dealing with trauma her whole life, but still

(don't) take a shot at every 'moose'

I think I'm not in the right head space for such a slow-paced book. I'm enjoying it but I'm not invested (at least at the point where I'm at)

Celebrating getting my hands on physical copies of the first two Nightrunner books by finally reading this trilogy. I didn't realize it's set in the same world! 'little Nysander' hello??? I'm sobbing

Robert Jackson Bennett, don't you dare do this to me

I'm so enjoying this new side of Din, and his and Ana's swapped awareness of acceptable social behaviour is hilarious (which tbf isn't exactly correct to say since Ana IS aware, of course she is, but she simply doesn't care)

If in book one I was confounded by how sparsely Din's family occupy his thoughts, here they've been brought up quite a bit. Relevant? To be seen

So many things are happening but what I need the answer to the most is what happened in New York. Because way back in chapter 2 or 3, based on what we got, I decided that perhaps the answer is the simplest one - it never happened. That still fits perfectly with everything we've been told and I'm impatiently waiting for a resolution

Didn't expect this to be romance heavy, of all things... Also, "she was watched at all times (...) had to be on her best behaviour" "she stayed to converse with him (...) because he was inconsequential enough not to be dangerous" Sophie. Girl. You KNOW he's hiding things. Knows things he shouldn't. Hello???? Can you also put 1+1 please? This is embarrassing, she already noticed enough to figure it out

'Something in my chest twisted at the thought of Raksh, possibly a cracked rib.' // this will never stop being funny

I love the energy and tone that Raksh brings whenever he's present 😂 gives good contrast

Yeah, I'm suspicious of everything. It's all just slightly off - both the island and the story 🤨

I'm here for a fun time... So why am I being haunted by tree/roots/thorns AGAIN. I can't escape. I'm back in the trenches. This is wha all over again

I'm in the mood for some cheesy drama and a heist
