With this title I was not expecting such a sweet and thoughtful book about adulthood, relationships and our place in the world.

I abandoned this book at page 96. I basically read it because Ann Patchett wrote a glowing blurb for the book. I was expecting a solid beach read-what I got was a boring beach read.

Wild book. Thought it was going to be dystopian horror. It is-but is also a book about being fat, the vicious weight loss roller coaster, and the grief and trauma that surrounds it. Sort of went off the rails at the end-but I was here for it.

3 books shy of my goal of 40 books read this year. But reaching my goal might involve neglecting my children, so I'll have to be content with 37!
