Weird & wonderful - tinged with a little HP but a very funny book - made me giggle

Utred son of Utred - watching the TV adaptation reminded me of this excellent Bernard Cornwall saga.
As good as I remembered, a gory & exciting account of the beginnings of England as seen by a Saxon brought up by Danes working for Alfred the Great, England's creator

So much better than Dan Brown but being English I found it quite hard to follow at times, not understanding American colleges - but even so a good puzzle with a fascinating insight into the obsessive nature of man

What other vampire book can she steal from? Shame I like about 50% of the book but it's stolen heavily from Twilight Saga & The Historian. I will finish it but it's irritated me as the components of this story are every thing I like but it's laughable that the author can get away with lifting characters and events from other books.
