Yass Birthday book! Arrived today. Perfect time. Reading this I am back in the hospital all over again. Machines hum. Time is chosen by strangers. My mother’s breath fades. I am a kid in 5th grade at a funeral of a friend who drowned, listening to a mom’s grief tear through the air. These are the memories that never fade and this book walks me straight back into them. BRUTAL. And I’m only 24 pages in.
