ARMAND!!!!!!!!!! (I'm finishing this book today let's be so for real)

Hearing Jacob Anderson's voice as a read is a testament to the show for adapting this so well. But as good as the show adaptation is, I did not know what I was in for with this!

My long awaited read of this book and i am surprised by how different the story is compared to both adaptations i have watched! (And also how similar it is! Lines in the show taken directly from the book and how the interview itself is portrayed in the show is spot on!)

After the absolute travesty that was Atlantis, Anne has finally found her Lestat voice again!! That's my James Bond of the Vampires!!!!!!

Lestat should yell at Marius more. For me.

So. Not as good as Prince Lestat (so far) but I am getting some good Louis & Lestat content. I'll take it. I love them so much 🥹

Took 362 pages but my sweet Botticelli angel has returned to me!! Armand le Russe, the love of my life, character of all time, I missed you so much. 🥹🥹🥹

If I gotta read 100 more pages before I get to Armand I am gonna scream. (The book is great but I'm desperate for more than just a few lines about my 500 year old Botticelli Angel/eldritch horror/insanely terrible vampire who is the love of my life, actually.)

Okay so it's a really fabulous follow up to QotD and is so reminiscent of that book's style which is great. THAT BEING SAID, please save me from the Gregory chapter. My god Miss Anne I'm dying here.

(Also, I care about one character in this whole series and that is Armand and if I don't see him at Trinity Gate soon I'm gonna crack.)

SHE'S BAAAAAAAACK!!! After suffering through Merrick, i finally gave up and started on the first book in the final trilogy and omg MISS RICE THANK YOU. Important to read Memnoch, TVA, and Blood & Gold before this but it is an EXCELLENT sequel to QotD so far. She's back! She's so very back! LESTAT DE LIONCOURT HOW I MISSED YOU!!!

David Talbot being an absolute creep to a mixed race 14 year old girl (someone send me a scholarly article on race/colonialism in the vampire chronicles pls). Bold start, Miss Anne.

Chapter 4 was so absolutely horrendously unnecessary. Feels a bit like Body Thief in that I'm just waiting for something to happen in this narrative (that and it's another Lestat and David duo mystery).

No part of me wants to actually read Memnoch but after Blood and Gold, I missed Lestat. Narrator of all time. Love that guy. He's already entertaining.

Marius finding Armand had me in tears. Had to take a break here because the emotions got too much. Armand, my beloved Botticelli angel, they could never make me hate you.

Anne is at her best when she lets the vampires share their histories. This is no exception. It's exquisite.

Marius hating hours have officially begun!!!!!

Louis: Absolutely not.
Lestat: You know what? Fuck you AND your shitty house. I'm setting it on fire.

It's so hard to read this after QotD because QotD was so good. But I'm pushing through. I trust Miss Anne to give me something good here.
