Not sure why she doesn’t like her nor respect her? It’s puzzling that this isn’t the only bio with that tone. Maybe it’s envy. Not sure if she were a male she’d get attacked like this when she writes thrillers like King and King gets a pass? Again, can’t put my finger on the bubbling resentment and need to expose her as this biographer does.

Hitting a pause to 'read' a few books and catch up as it's naturally chronological. I jumped around 'reading' many stand-alone novels, his autobio (his son finished for him due to his untimely death), then started at the beginning.

Bought the audiobook to sync with Kindle book and am majorly struggling with the narrator’s interpretation/acting of the text. Nowhere have I ever heard such a pompous rendition of le Carré. Adding insult to injury, paid $26 (discount price) for it. Audible books have nearly tripled recently. This narrator is so far off mark of how he’s reading his insightful text sounding like a Drag Queen that I might stop.

So happy with the purchase. I double-buy my books because I enjoy the whisper syncing where it’s read aloud and we auto-follow on the page. Whomever thought that up was tapping into genius. For this alone I forgive Amazon for lots. Haha

Once you get it, you get it. Do better, it’s worth it.

I got stuck in the middle because she's so stuck on herself. That said, sometimes it's best not to find out what songs were originally written about. That said, I like it.

I have restarted this book 20 times. The first chapters are just remarkable. It's quite the tale!
