4.5 ⭐️ I really liked this book as it delves into human nature and looks at how people are fundamentally kind and cooperative, not selfish or violent. Through real-life stories, science, and history, the author shows how people come together in times of crisis. The core message is to trust others more, and build communities rooted in cooperation and kindness. I really needed this.

This novel was incredibly emotional and raw. I have always loved Wally Lamb, and I found this to be another beautifully written novel. Though heavy and potentially triggering, the book is filled with moments of love, kindness, and strength.
