While he does have a tendency to be scintillatingly erudite and use words like "quotidian" when "common" or "frequent" will do, this collection of book reviews and other essays never ceases to impress with Hitchens's utter command of history. While not his usual set of rants on religion and skepticism, this book offers insight into the last of the Great Essayists. He'll be sorely missed.
