These never cease to crack my face into endless smirks. I always feel like a giggle is just waiting to escape, and it's just such a joy!

Now I know exactly what I'm perturbed at this book. This is quite literally a slightly altered version of From Blood and Ash, but the exact gods, creatures, misinformation, and prophecy guided behavior. Why must every book written in the past 5 years in this category be so similar?!

I knew what to expect when I got into this book, but I'm a little perturbed that there wasn't any world building or character insights prior to jumping right into the deep end. For that reason I just found myself annoyed and disconnected from the main characters. I'm hoping this is alleviated as I continue, but it just could have been a better start.

I had heard only good things about this book; however, it all paled in comparison to how I'd feel about this book, and I'm only halfway through. I'm currently listening to the audio version, and it is spectacular. I can already see so much beauty in the relationships forming here. It's funny and heartwarming and lovely!

Oh goodness. I have held my composure with an unattached emotional distance throughout this entire book, but the moment Jadis and Reaver curl up with Sera in her notus form, I am a goner. The atrocity and pain are so vivid in that moment. What a spectacularly written scene.

Lydia is starting The Big Book of Sides: More than 450 Recipes for the Best Vegetables, Grains, Salads, Breads, Sauces, and More: A Cookbook
A really basic cookbook. I didn’t find myself particularly inclined to try much of anything in here, and that might be because it was lacking experimentation that comes with more advanced levels of cooking. If you need a basic sides cookbook organized by vegetable and ingredient, than this will be a useful place to start.

I had no expectations going into this book, simply that I'd had the pleasure of hearing the author speak at a book event with Victoria Schwab. I'm not normally a Gothic fan, but even given I've only read 57 pages, I'm already quite impressed. Harrow writes in a fashion that I'm drawn to, and she also has a love of footnotes, à la a recent read, Jay Kristoff. I can't wait to see where this one leads!

I almost gave up on this one. I know it's uber popular, but I wasn't even interested by chapter 7. Yet here I FINALLY find myself invested. Maybe it's because I can finally empathize with Feyre around Tamlin, but Maas actually got a few tiny tears out of me. Let's hope this means the book is about to be vastly improved!

I knew this book would annoy me. I get it, Poppy is sleeping, but I really didn't want to rehash all of this from Cas' point of view. It was just unnecessary truthfully. I find myself moving so slowly through it, that I'm hoping Poppy wakes up soon in the 'Present Day.' This is also the point in this series that if Poppy doesn't get a full blown threesome and get to keep both of these men, I'll be dissatisfied.

I am truthfully enjoying this book; however, it is long. 725 pages is just quite a lot, and I'm finding myself reading it ever so slowly. I have barreled through 800 page books much quicker. I can see that this story will lead somewhere wonderful, but it's been rather difficult to tackle. It's just missing something, whereas my last Kristoff book did not. Holding out hold for the second half.

It's about this time in a duology that I realize, that there is much about this story that will be left unsaid. It makes me so sad. I'm not sure yet where the end of this book will lead, but given I'm 75% through, I know I won't be satisfied. I already know this beautiful possibility of a series will be shunted far too soon. But on I go to my disappointment.

Over-descriptive? Is there such a thing?! This book is entirely beautiful; it's as if poetry and dreams took on length to become a story, one you can't stop reading.

This book has been on my TBR forever, and I just never managed to check it out of the library. I'm only a tenth of the way through, and I feel ashamed of myself for having waited so long. After reading the reviews here in regards to this, I knew I would either annoyed by all the over-descriptions, or I would be awed by the descriptive prose. It is certainly the latter. It is a beautifully written book thus far.

I don't ever recall being so infuriated at a book before. Never have I been so infuriated at a character before. Claire. She is so weak. But in a testament to how very real the tumultuous emotions are within this series, I also know that even while Claire is weak, she's also a great many of us women. Maybe I feel so triggered because I too have been weak in the face of our own instincts and intuition.

I just wanted to quickly say how amazing I found the recap section at the front of the book. I wish all books in a series had a recap, just to refresh the important bits and jog your memory.

August is funny, and I mean truly and intelligently funny. I find myself giggling and smirking at his remarks at every chapter. Reisz always seems to write in the perfect amount of wit into her characters.

I've already cried and had a day full of cheek aching grins. I can't believe I'm more than half way finished with the last book! I just can't fathom it ever ending, and I'm taking my sweet time getting there. These characters have grown to become some of my favorites ever, and I'll never be ready to part from them. Kristen is the queen of creating characters that instantly resonate and cling to your thoughts!

I was so excited for this spin-off to come out, and it is not disappointing. We're getting some awesome insight on Devereau and also Helen expertly wound in some familiar characters too from the Firebrand series.

Alright Harlow is finally turning her whiner attitude around, and I can finally get through the storyline that involves her. Augustine is amazing, and I know I want to continue for that reason. I also think I'm maybe over Audible for a bit, so it might be better if I was physically reading it.

Harlow is quite possibly the worst female character. I'm really loving this book, but she is so annoying. She seems so entitled and whiny. I just know that she's going to mellow out and be a good pair with Augustine, but I'm going to have a hard time getting there.

I'm not exactly sure how to feel about this yet. I feel disconnected from the story in so many ways. I feel like there is a world quickly building amongst the story, but I am having a hard time reconciling it in my mind. It feels very imaginative and interesting on Jane's part. It feels like a lot of information about a world, while still knowing so little about it. I'm still waiting to connect with the MC.
