I don’t normally count fanfic on this but this one is sooooo long that I 100% deserve to. ❤️

DNFing at 19%. I love the premise of this one but early on, the heroine thinks of the biracial hero as ~exotic~ which... Come on, it’s 2020. Get out of here with that. I wanted to keep reading but I looked at some other Goodreads reviews and apparently this one does not get better. I didn’t want to waste my time on this one.

A classic, super fun!

Loved this! Only rating it four stars because I didn’t read the original novel but I could tell where parts were cut short. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. Would love to read the original some day.

A silly, fun singalong read that teaches some basic subtraction and has a great message.

Did NOT realize the main character is from Philly. Even more reason to relate.

I’m not sure lyrical nonfiction is for me, but Carol Jeffers brings up some great points about empathy and the origins of our understanding it. At some points her metaphors dive a little too deep for me and I have to take a step away. However, this is a very timely and thought-provoking read!
