Genevieve is on page 146 of 960 of Iberia
I am confused by the style of this book. It appears to me to be historical non fiction but there are no footnotes or explanation of new terms (such as Cluniac). One needs to frequently seek out explanations that are relevant to understanding the history. I am used to explanations and footnotes to guide my education and historical appreciation. Has writing this style of novel changed that much in 50 years?

I got this book from the library to see if I wanted to read it. It usually takes me longer than the library allotted to time to complete a book, so if I like it, then I purchase a used copy. I will be purchasing a used copy soon!

Reading very slowly. Very dense.

Genevieve is starting Jefferson's Daughters: Three Sisters, White and Black, in a Young America
I finished reading Jefferson's Daughters. Once I got to Harriet, I decided to continue reading. The author has spent a great deal of time trying to find clues to the life of Harriet. Although she exhausted every source, she was unable to do more than speculate. I wonder if it would be possible in today's world to so throughly disappear!
All in all, this was a good read. I will continue to read about Jefferson.
