Really? Is this happening? Is what I think is gonna happen happen??????????????

This book reads like watching the first Knives Out movie. Love Love Love.

In another world this book would be horror novel and titled „Get Out“ and in yet another world it would be a contemporary novel, or a romance or a YA story, so far the least likely would be science fiction but I still have 50% to go so who knows… right now it‘s a mystery/who-dunit-crime thriller novel.

So far, this reads - or rather sounds like (as I am listening to the audiobook) our good friend Stephen Fry tells the story of the Odyssey as it comes to him from his considerable memory and research.

If I had to describe it further I‘d say this;
Casual, sometimes jumping between the narrative and Fry‘s own additions (eg. poems, etc.) from his research - as if he had ADHD - jumping from one thought to another.
