Excellent summary of an individual politicians experience, told in the poetic, charismatic style known to Rory Stewart. I found the general feeling of malaise and nihilistic stagnation within the British system eye opening. My only real critique is that the last chapters felt rushed, not going into enough detail about the consequences of defeat, subsequent mayoral election and the ultimate retreat from parliament.

Excellent read introducing a truly historical and full existence - one lifetime tells the tale of the ebb and flow of liberty and the revolutionary ideas which swept from the new world to the old
