Would have enjoyed this more if any of the characters were likable.

I just realized that this book takes place in same house as Sea Glass by Shreve also takes place. I love that connection.

Faith is reading Mad Women: The Other Side of Life on Madison Avenue in the '60s and Beyond
This is a fast paced read so far. I love the comparison's between the author's life and the real women of Mad Men. Clever.

I am not sure how I feel about this book. I read "The Smoker" when I was in college, and my writing professor mentioned how it came from this book where all of the stories were connected. I thought that concept was interesting at the time and always wanted to read it. Years later, I am around to it but I am not sure what to make of it. I feel as though the characters are pretty one dimensional. More later.

I get lost in this book every time I read a chapter. It's very visual and envokes in me a time of glamour, when class mattered, and ladies were ladies. It's just such a satisfying book. I don't really care what happens in the end, because I have the feeling that when it ends, it won't really be ending.

Peggy's elders have been stealing from the community. She is now wondering if she was only picked to be king because she is a woman and may not notice such things...however, these elders don't know Peggy!

Seriously, the girls' uniforms were blue dresses from Bonwit Teller? That is a dream!

I started reading this today and I am already in love. I am reminded of my last trip to NYC and how much I loved walking down 5th Avenue. I also am thinking of my past summers and am trying to think of the best summer of my life. Which one would I write about?

This book is so interesting. I feel so selfish as I read it, because the people of Ghana have so little and we in America have so much and often complain. In Ghana, they make do without running water, air conditioning, education and so much more. I can't believe how much I complain about silly things when these people have to make do with so little.

I originally thought this made worked for the Astors who were on the Titanic. I was wrong, but it's still interesting so far. Reminds me a lot of the last maid memoir I read.
