I checked this out from the library for my granddaughter.She didn't seem interested so I'm reading it.My ancestors are germans from Russia who immigrated to America in 1910,shortly after this story takes place,enduring many of the same privations.It seems history is repeating itself.

Too depressing.

I'll be reading this until New Years....lol
