Ehh.. this is awkward.. but reading this book feels like homework.

There is no delicacy or witty in Mr. King writing, and I haven't encountered ONE clever idea in the narrative.

I just feel I owe it to Kubrick to finish the book, and I am really trying to understand what millions have seen in it.

Flaubert really knows how to weave his words. By now, the metamorphosis from "shy country girl" to "party monster" is evident. However, Emma gives me serious vibes of dominatrix. Let's see how far she goes in her self-discovery journey, and how much Mr. Bovary will let her explore.

An extraordinary read until now. Poetic prose, a fresh interpretation of narrators, an a thought-provoking study of characters. It is like listening to Charlie Parker, you don't understand quite well what is he doing, but you are sure it is not often someone makes you reach that deep corner of your soul.
