I’m finding these characters insufferable still. Josh is so negative, and I don’t know why I’m supposed to think he is so great. I hate how contrived this conflict is. It’s annoying that Kristen isn’t just being honest with him. It’s just shy of a miscommunication trope, and it’s not working for me.

As always Abby creates complex three dimensional characters out the gate, but this one has started a little unlikeable to me. Had a false start of it a couple days ago because it was such a negative opening tone.
The emphasis on the machismo to make a favorable comparisons to the deployed boy friend is heavy handed and is a little off putting already.
We’ll see how it shakes out; might be a rare miss for me.

Kelly Bishop is so clever and frank. I’m really enjoying listening to her memoir.

I’m just annoyed that anyone is listening to Radane. She has no power in this situation. Hope this resolves quick.

The conflicts in this book are honestly more annoying than anything. They just don’t carry real weight.

Honestly feel like I’ve got the point by now. It’s hard to keep going when the characters make increasingly bad decisions and they’re unlikeable (even assuming that’s sort of the point). I’m just not caring about June and her self involvement.
