This is how I see SOME of the characters:

Frances: middle aged author who isn't worked about how she looks and isn't there to lose weight but is there for a spiritual journey. She was a victim of a romance scam.

Napoleon: really sweet reminds me of an ex I once dated. Shame about his psycho wife!

Heather: absolute psycho. Doesn't appreciate her husband and doesn't love her daughter. Cold and uncaring.

It's okay. Ben is a bit of an asshole and Jessica is a plastic princess but I do like Frances. And I wonder why Yao went from a trainee paramedic to working at the Tranquillium house.

The only character I didn't like or didn't feel sorry for was Alexandra . Most people would kill to be rich and here she is complaining about her married life and kids . Nobody twisted her arm to marry Maxwell . First world problems right there .

So far so good ! It reminds me of Big Little Lies (the book not the show ) and that's a good thing . I love books about women's friendships and how the stories of the women entwine with each other . I think I've discovered a new favourite author !

Shocked at so many low ratings ! I guess you guys don't know a good book til it hits you in the face.

Karen is very naive and acts younger than her actual age which is what 13? I was so happy when my parents divorced because that meant no more fighting . So really I don't understand why kids back then thought divorce was a bad thing .

Wow ! It's not the usual type of book I read but loving it so far.

The first half was really good but it's starting to drag a bit.

Territory, Beneath the southern Cross and Kal will always remain my top three favourite ms !

God Jo is such a bitch. She doesn't think her mother is good enough for Basil. Just because Hillary did her wrong all those years ago she's going hold a grudge for the rest of her life.

Hillary's an idiot. She makes her husband sound like a saint and a victim even though he's a child abuser and a cheater. I have zero sympathy for the woman because she's so gulliable.

Jo is so annoyingly up herself and snobby. Thinking she's better then everyone and better than Mike. She needs to be taken down a peg or two.

Why would Jo not tell Mike she was pregnant? He had every right to know. And every right to see his daughter so taking Alana away from him without a good reason was wrong. Just because he was going to the Pilbara is not a good excuse. I didn't like any of the women in this book. They were sluts and trashy.

Why did this get high ratings? It's terrible! The main character is unlikable and has tickets on herself and is a bit shallow. I'm finding it hard to finish.

Despite its thickness this book is an easy read. I love historical fiction and Edward Rutherfurd is one of my favourites. However I didn't like the priests remark: people worship God because he is good not better themselves. Can't they do both ?? I thought that's what people did. Pray to God to better themselves. That priest has no clue what he's talking about.

Stupid comment from Susan:

People just don't die for no reason. Uh hello?? He has a heart condition.

Susan is such an idiot going with this plot just because she fancied David.

It's only just ok. The kids in this book are really self entitled and don't understand that hard work gets you good grades. I'm really appalled at one of the kids excuses for not doing their homework-because he had a sports game. That's one of the most poorest excuses ever. Worse than my dog ate my homework. No wonder mr griffin was tough on them. They were nothing but lazy and self entitled.

The women in this are being treated like shallow trailer trash bimbos. I'm offended. Not all women are like that. Just trailer trash bimbos.

I don't like Hilary. Shallow bimbo who had sex with a guy just because he was good looking. I hate girls like that.

What exactly am I reading??
Am I to believe they let Alice leave early without running tests on her ? She didn't even see the dr! She just lied to them and they actually let her go? That's incompetence right there and she could have done serious damage to herself.

Lily is kidding herself if she thinks she has a claim on the bungalow.

The only character I didn't like was Sami. She was too snobby and she thought she was better then anybody else especially Aboriginies. She's so closed minded ! She need to have an open mind like her mother but unfortunately she's too one dimensional to change.

I adored Tears Of The Moon. It's perhaps my favourite of all! I hope the sequel is just as good.

Why a different cover ??

And yet another book set on an island. There were just too many of these last year and were all the same. Believe me I know as I read them all. I'll bet this won't give me anything different.

Not only did Rosie think it was Jennifer's fault Blair turned it all around on her and blamed her for his little affair! He thinks it's all her fault and he didn't take any responsibility for his actions. He had the nerve to tell her to grow up when he was the one to talk. He was a real douchebag.

I hope I'm not the only one who found this hard to get through. The main character is just so boring she made the story boring. Dani is a fairly predictable boring character with no flaws. I call her a Mary Sue. Because she was. The plot was predicable too. I'm sad because Morrisseys early books were great.

Ok so I just read that Blair was cheating on Jennifer and Rosie knew about it and blamed Jennifer. She was actually on Blair's side and was justifying what Blair did! What the hell is wrong with these characters ?

I've never hated a character as much as I hate Jennifer. She acts like the world owes her something. She is so negative and she was actually going to drink wine when she knows she's pregnant! She lives at a beautiful resort and island for free I might add! and all she does is complain!! Blair is no better treating his wife like she's his sister or something and indifferent to her needs.

Ugh Blair is no better. He actually didn't believe Rhonda when she was raped. And he doesn't give a fudge about Jennifer's career (or lack of) or her future. Just about himself. Actually those two deserved each other.

Bleh still not good. Jennifer has no sense of humour at all. She's so uptight! I do not trust people who are like this.

Omg what a whiner Jennifer is ! You'd think she was hard done by or something. And her mother is just as bad and such a bitch!

I'd like this whole lot better if the characters were interesting and likeable. I didn't like any of them especially Christina. At the start she was bitching about what a hard life she lead. Come off it there are people a lot worse off than you princess. Then later she gets jealous of her own daughter because she thinks Jennifer flirted with the men she dated. It's sick.

Not one of the authors better books.
