Morgan takes every part of the noir detective novel to cyborgian extremes - including the 'evil sexy ladies' part.

I would've started this a long time ago if someone told me it was a GAY book about translation and magic

Audiobook narrator is great. He gives really interesting characterisation to a world where gender is denoted by specific accessories

I can already tell this book is going to ruin me. But it's incredibly well-written.

This really is special. Sensitive descriptions of rural religious life, all of them so different and affecting, all the characters believable.

Damn this is incredible so far. You'll think a character is an asshole or cold and unlikeable, then it switches perspectives to them and they're your favourite. Incredibly compelling and beautiful prose.

Currently a lot more interested in the discussion of what it was like to be a queer woman in Hollywood than the sex scenes, so it's a shame there's a lot more of the latter than the former.

This is a wild ride. It follows a lord seducing his servant, who falls in love with him and marries him. It's pretty grim stuff, and more grim because the Lord is considered to be a generous guy when he stops trying to rape his servant. They had different standards in those days I guess

I'll have to catch up to this when I can get another copy out of the library. The constant lack of line breaks to appease the eyes can be wearing, but then he writes these perfect sparkling sentences which make it all worthwhile.

Jesus this is a long haul. Turns out that the prose which makes radio updates so disconcerting and interesting, makes a narration that is hopelessly bogged down, with barely any plot threads to provide hope. Josh is a great character though.
