The book is well written, but the main character has many flashbacks that are too distracting from the plot. I may finish it sometime.

Not sure if I’ll read more of this. The author seems to think it’s funny to have the main character, Barry, fall asleep everywhere. It’s already happened several times. Barry and Beth, the other main character, dated in high school and meet again at an assisted living facility. Her personality is quite different than his, and they start being vigilantes very quickly. Even for fiction, this is too much.

I may go back to it later, but it is too heavy for me. Looking for a mystery
or suspense story that’s not quite as dark as this.

I’m about 50 percent through and put it away for the time being. The plane descriptions really slowed down the pacing, in my opinion. I will finish it eventually because I do like his writing and the descriptions of the Tahoe area. At this point I would give it three stars but may give it four when I finish it.

Too many descriptions of planes. I may take a break from it and pick it up again later.

Interesting stories from Willie Nelson’s early life and his music career. There are some excerpts from members of band and people who work with him behind the scenes.

Not sure I’m going to finish. Some of the dialogue is cringey, and there isn’t one character I really like.
