I'm going very slowly, as with each name or battle site named, I google and cross reference it with other books. I know, not very productive way to get through it. I haven't decided if it want to just read through it yet.

I'm jumping around because I'm reading Fornanders history of Hawaii.

I have had this two months already and feel that I am slowly making progress. His writing is detailed and his recounting of history is weaves neatly throughout. Though that is not why I am slowly digesting it, rather it is because it is very emotionally taxing. There are some days I cannot read it because it leaves me depressed.
