“Everything we seek can only be found in the present” and to choose the future is to hold onto a shadow. This is coming at a time when I’m deciding to go to grad school and have received so many no’s. Everyday I choose to be present with my closed ones, I’m choosing love, I’m choosing to honor life. Whoa! I can't stop reading. This book uses the lives of these twins to show the privileges of systems of whiteness. One chooses to pass as white, while the other doesn't. Their lives totally different. Whiteness can be adopted as well not only given at birth.
