150 pages in, it's more than obvious that this old goat took one look at a photo of 1976 Patricia Columbo with her curves and long hair, and became enraptured with her, to put it politely. If she had been plain and dumpy, there would be no book, but as it is we get this almost fawning apologist ode to poor Patty Columbo. "How could such a pretty girl be evil?" he seems to wonder again and again. Ugh.

Very weird how I keep getting "likes" on my updates from all these people I never heard of, who mostly appear to be young, foreign, often posed provocatively, few of whom read anything I would ever read if you paid me.

It's obviously some kind of angle, though they never try to contact me, so who knows? I block the most ridiculous ones and just scratch my head about the rest. Anyone else having this happen?

The first story was kind of cool, but after that I'm barely sticking with it. After reading three Hemingways in a row, including the short stories, I wanted to switch it up, and this is a switch all right, but i find myself longing to go back to something that makes sense, without all the BS.

I'm loving the stories except for the bullfighting ones. I hate those.

This is the fourth time I've read this and I still love it like an old old friend.

All of a sudden I'm getting "likes" on everything I post from people I never heard of who all seem to be foreign. Many of them have been on here for years, yet have no books read. I try to block them as fast as they crop up, but I'm wondering if this happens to anyone else and why they do it?
