only 4 chapters in and don’t want it to end so I’m going to read it as slowly as possible 🙃

Only three chapters in, but it is genuinely masterful and magical and wondrous and perfect and I know it’ll be that way until the end. JRR Tolkien, you are one of a kind

So odd that I’m really not vibing with this so far. It doesn’t even feel like Donna Tartt wrote it. It reads like Amor Towles. Hoping my mind changes halfway through at least

Deliberately reading this very slowly because it is so good that I don’t want it to end

Something about this is really hard to read (maybe the translation is more tedious than it needs to be?). Switched to the audiobook and having a much nicer time, but struggling to feel invested

THIS. IS. PERFECT. Bless u @Alex

@Oorie this is a video game in book form, including lots of little details like tutorials and inventory/chat/attack functions. I’m wondering if you’d enjoy or not 🤔 I still hope u try it hehehe

Wait I’m SAT…could lowkey finish this all in a couple of hours

My god, I am struggling to get into this for various reasons. Really hoping it picks up soon and the writing stops feeling so try-hard.

“The thing is, Emmy, you are a product of the nineteenth century: you believe that sadness implies goodness and suffering implies purity. And you think that when you find someone who is sick in the head, they must be good because they’ve suffered.”

Every chapter is so gorgeous. It takes me a while to digest it before starting the next one. This book is gonna take me a while

Ok I literally JUST started this but having trouble suspending my disbelief. If animals are no longer edible why would the first resort be eating humans for protein…just grow plants

I thought I would be extremely invested by now, but I’m not…oop

Uhhhh why I feel like dis gonna make me cri a lil

Wow I guess the ADHD meds are working because I’m suddenly locked in and HOOKED

Getting on ADHD meds next week so maybe that will help me hold attention to this and finally finish it 🫠

Only reading this because I have to teach the controversy of it at work don’t get it TWISTEDDD

Wait ew…I take back what I said. Book Jamie is gross

Jamie Fraser…the man that u are

Didn’t pick this back up for a while ‘cause I got bored. Little did I know I was 10 pages away from shit hitting the FAN

Audiobook second time around for background noise/sleep sound but I’m accidentally paying 100% attention LOL

I don’t like this 😑
