I finished the first of his essays. Not in love yet. We'll see.

I just finished David Foster Wallace's essay, which I've read before. But it's all sorts of brilliant. The world lost a really interesting guy when he died.

Fascinating essays. If this were a series, I'd subscribe to it.

These stories are all a bit older, but this "litarary nonfiction" collection is exactly what I was looking for.

This is a bit of a slim volume, but that's OK. I want to know as much as possible about this.

It looks like Ronson spent time with Muslim militants (fundamentalists, extremists, whatever you want to call 'em) just before 9/11. An interesting look on how this world completely changed in the years since this was released.

Ah, the breafast cereal wars. Where public consciousness of too much sugar in cereals led to the industry... taking the word "Sugar" out of the name of some cereals. Problem solved!

I licked this book. Nothing. False advertising!

I almost never read novels; I'm a nonfiction guy. But I picked this one up at the 'brary. We'll see.

An interesting look at a Jazz Age sports cartoonist. These were the days in which there were a lot of newspapers, but sports photography was pretty terrible. So cartoonists reigned.

This is a big book. But I'm getting through it.

An accurate portrait of the Bush/Cheney years from the inside. This is no valentine, but it definitely humanizes two men who I was definitely a part of demonizing in the Aughts.

I am really into this book. The tone and wordsmithing are right up my alley.

I think that understanding the thinking of those who don't agree with me is the very best way to make informed opinions. I reflexively believe in "common sense" gun reforms, such as those recently passed in Connecticut. But there are a lot of people who don't feel that way that I respect a lot. But trying to have a conversation about this often leads to yelling, hard feelings, or Caps Lock. I want to go past it.

This guy had better, more imaginative campaigns than I ever had. But it's about time for a history book of the role-playing game.

I like this. Rushkoff's brand of intellectualism and scholarship without writing "like a scholar" appeals to me.

DFW is, as always, dense of prose and not for those with divided attentions. But you're rewarded if you stick to it; DFW was one of the great cultural critics.

I know nothing about Ted Bundy, and this is a very famous book by a very good crime reporter who knew him personally before the killing began and had access to him afterwards. Fascinating so far.

I've become a big DFW fan, but some of these are a bit pretentious/over my head.

Some of these essays are extremely dated and uninteresting, but others are vivid and fascinating.

So far, so good. It's definitely strange to read a book about unemployment when some of my friends/coworkers are recently unemployed.
