i looove a story about women’s independence. i loooove that she respected herself enough to leave and i adore that she’s making her own space in the world despite all the hardships faced. she is such a head-strong, iconic character. miss brontë you did amazing with this.

been reading a really good twilight fanfic on wattpad lately and It’s sooo good but It’s not on goodreads and I’m so sad abt that cos I’d LOVE to post my thoughts i have so many my brain is working overtime

someone else said it read like diary entries and i agree that’s why It’s so loveable and easy to read !! i couldn’t place why i felt that way but that’s exactly it. i love it so much.

I’m actually really let down by this book tbh. the premise was good but It’s just falling so flat. maybe It’s a reader issue because i usually only listen to creepy scary stories, but also this is giving more of thriller/mystery regarding a corrupt town and i just didn’t get that vibe from the blurb..? I will finish it because I’m determined and the story is mildly enjoyable, just not the best.

finally wrote up my review for “where the wolf prays” by Nyra Ashvale. I wrote alot in my common place about it so I had to pull out my notes hence why it was slightly delayed, but she’s out now!!

charlottes story is so devastating omg I’ve cried so much throughout her chapters. the way sabine lowkey morphed into that of which she hated most (men) by desiring control and acting on lust and greed… so interesting. she forgot herself as she aged which i didn’t anticipate. maybe i should have.

It’s getting so good im SCREAMING

okay charlotte’s chapters really picked the book back up. I’m convinced alice is just a boring character thus far cos charlotte and sabine have kept me intrigued

learning that i actually need to NOT try and annotate every book i read because it actually prolongs the experience and makes me not as immersed. do not try and annotate ‘bury our bones in the midnight soil’ because It’s a book where you need to stay on top of plot points and (at least in my experience) annotating makes it harder to actually take in some instances at more than just face value 😭

author works in hollywood thanks to mike flanagan aka director of bly manor and the haunting of hill house aka my fave director discovering their work… I’m SAT. i trust Mr flanagan with my life so if he deems something worthy i am suuuuuper excited
