A bit meh. Gratuitous tragic back Story - v. Cliche. Very one dimensional main character. first person narration is irritating at best - unnatural and unrealistic. Excessive physical descriptions of characters. doesn’t leave room for the story to unfold -too eager to tell us everything for fear of us not figuring it out ourselves

Enjoyable. Although some dramatic events seem to be happening without as much build up as I would like

Enjoyable. I’m finding myself more invested in the western half of the story (set in Inys) than the Eastern sections (set in Seiiki). I think the characters have been developed slightly more and more is happening in Inys at this point in the novel

Intriguing. There’s a lot of characters and the names of people and places are proving difficult to remember (and pronounce!). The language is questionable... seems like an odd mix between modern speak and ye olde English which doesn’t quite sit right. Nonetheless, I’m enjoying the story and the descriptions and characters are great
