I love how Jane finds out about Bertha and starts talking about how bad her life is which is understandable but also at least you aren't the one stuck in the attic 😭

Rochester is so evil for leading Blanche Ingram on right up until the moment he proposed to Jane all the while he's keeping his 1st wife in the attic😭

obsessed with how she introduces Rochester by calling him an ugly weirdo freak (not wrong tbh)

rereading for brontë girl summer (something I just invented) curious to see how I feel about it 3 years later + so I can reread wide sargasso sea because I didn't appreciate it enough the first time

this is good and fun to read but I can't get over how many times the gen z characters use the word "cringe"😭 even if it's to show how old the mc feels in comparison it's so funny to me

honestly only reading this so I can tell myself I'm revising for my handmaid's tale/Frankenstein exam without having to read them for the 4th time

finishing this the night before an exam was a terrible idea I'm devastated😭

this is better than I remember it being when I was trying to be an intellectual at 12 but the only thing that stuck in my head was Winston talking about his vericose vein😭
