I had the audio version of this which was narrated by the author so should have been a true reflection of intent. Maybe I need to try the written version because this was truly awful. Jumped around, very difficult to follow no plot that grabbed by interest. I gave up, life's too short. Maybe his peak was the Book Thief ( which I loved) and it's downhill from there.

I very rarely give up on a book but am not enjoying this at all. Too many people who knows how they all link together, is very poorly explained. So many good books out there to waste time on this

A bit too 'Mills and Boon' for me but was very interested in the history of Christ the Redeemer in Rio. Not sure it inspired me to read the rest of the series.
