Wow. This novel is many things at once -- a woman's narrative of migration/fleeing China with her father; a exploration of individual and collective memory as it impacts the individual and, even more so, as it creates the future and particular pasts; what it means to imagine; and how to reconcile never knowing. While beautifully leading us through the questions, she also teaches us about Arendt, Spinoza, and Lao Tsu

This book is stunning.

Really not impressed or engaged thus far

This book is so terrifying mostly because the sleep moderating device she uses (and that allows the monitoring) seems absolutely like something that could/would/will happen.
