I'm the person in this book. Vigga is me. It's as if someone took what's in my head and put it on paper. It's simple, but meaningful in a way that may only resonate to a very particular kind of person. Everyone else may consider it tedious and insubstantial. And that's okay.

2/3 done. I like the premise, the approach of a first contact with an alien species and the commentary on climate crisis, but I'M CONFLICTED! I read the first 100 pages myself, then switched to the audiobook, but I'm having my issues with the narration, and I'm still trying to figure out whether that's part of the reason the book can't fully get to me, or if it's just not as greately executed as I hoped it would be.

Five volumes in and no teacher in sight. I'm losing my mind. Is anyone ever reading a book or something? rhetorical
It's genuinely ridiculous how invested I am.

I just found out that this book has a huge amount of haters nowadays. I can't recall that much dislike for it back when it came out. Oh, but everything and everyone just became more miserable over the years, I guess. NEVER MIND. I kinda forgot about the extend of Richard's obnoxiousness. I'm seething with irritation—He had it coming.

I had to make my way through 38 pages of Introduction first. Valuable, as it offers some not insignificant insight to keep in mind before diving into the story itself. But oh, have mercy. My brain is mush now.*

*I read so many pages today, considering I also finished the second half of my other book today.

I always dive into this book full of excitement and jolly, only to find myself leave it with a heavy heart, full of scorn and sadness, eventually.

Inhaltlich eigentlich ganz gut strukturiert, aber eben auch eher oberflächlich. Mir persönlich zu uninspiriert geschrieben—Mein Hirn langweilt sich, und dadurch komme ich leider nur schwer in den Lesefluss. DNF?

Jasmin S. is reading Art Matters: Because Your Imagination Can Change the World
It may be lazy to set my reading goal to one book, and then finish it with something familiar, but I refuse to give in to the pressure; I have real problems to tackle this year. And I want to start my year encouraged and with a sense of achievement, no matter how small that may be.
