I’ve got an inclination to read Christmas stories the rest of the year…any recommendations? Lighthearted fantasy is preferable, but serious and really interesting is ok too

I feel like I’m reading an extended IMDB filmography of his childhood. I think I went into this with wrong expectations. Pretty dry and repetitive. I can only read in short doses.

I’m so curious how he would have written about plague in this book if his publication date was just a year or so later than it was.

It’s interesting reading Dan Carlin in print as opposed to his podcast. Not 100% sold yet. I do know that this is going to take me longer to read than other books because it’s hard to not hear his voice and cadence while reading. (I don’t normally read with an internal voice)

I was going to rate each story as I read them, but got distracted and read too many in a row. These stories are wonderful so far.

Audio was most definitely the way to go with this book. This last chapter was pretty harrowing. Oh and second person present tense works surprisingly well here.

Can I stop reading and still mark this book as read? 65%? I’ll keep trying. 4 days left til I have to return it.

Another slow going book. I don’t want to abandon it, though. I only have to read 30 pages a day to finish it by the library return date.

Oof. I picked this title off the sffbc bookshelf and didn’t read the blurb. So not what I was expecting from the title. I dislike this time period, so may be a dragged out read.

Oooh...this book is suitably creepy. I love Noemi’s character and while I dislike a lot of the others, I have a feeling I’m supposed to (I think.) Can’t wait to find out what’s really going on

It has been so nice to have a run of audiobooks with AMAZING readers! As for the story, this is a lot of fun and I’m amusing myself by picking out (what I think are) the actual historical things among the sci-fi trappings.
