Oof. Trauma dumping. Pointless drama.

I’m really enjoying this so far. Love the unreliable narrator aspect. And Christopher’s thoughts on his life and his autism are pretty interesting.

Finally, the action picked up a bit.

This isn’t dull but it’s a much slower read than The Martian imo.

Oof, this book is heavy and making me feel a lot. It’s very good, though. Marx❤️

I can’t imagine being in love with someone for years and not making a move. Even if you’re trying to preserve a friendship. And both people feel this way?? Maddening. It’s repetitive. Tension-filled vacation after vacation. Example after example of how they’re too different to make it work.

Another asshole Bridgerton. At least Anthony didn’t blackmail his lover. Or threaten to have charged with a serious crime. Or insult her low birth. Or tell her she’s only good enough to be a mistress. So a working class woman is basically a sex slave in regency England. Probably true and truly a joy to read about 🙄

Oh god! A Cinderella plot. I’m really scraping the bottom of the romance barrel here. Why can’t I look away?!

Meh. He’s charming, sure, but much of the book is not very interesting. I don’t get his “bumper stickers.” Just imagine a lot of nonsensical philosophical rambling like in that Lincoln commercial. He’s as odd as he is charismatic.

I didn’t think this was going to be near as funny as it is, probably because I’ve never read Lindy West’s work before. I’m actually reading it in order of personal appeal. So I read the American Pie review pretty quickly (but not before Face/Off.. Duh). Favorite line of the book so far: Everyone saw his “Mark Hoppus”... but let’s just say it wasn’t a Tom DeLonge. I’m in love with this book.

Not bad but I could do without the obsessive love. It’s annoying. Could this not be just as good with two supernatural beings trying their best to make a relationship work amidst chaos? Or better yet, just focus on the constant danger and have an occasional flirtation because you’ve only known each other 3 fucking weeks.
