Are the scares in the room with us?

Can't believe I've just read the words 'unalived' in an actual book

This is the second thriller I've read(ing) this year with interesting premises but ends up being so boring!

Had on reserve from the library since January. Has it been worth the wait? No.

30 pages in and the world building is whack. Only artists (essentially they're journalists tbh), suppliers and miners for the whole village? But there are still cooks and servants?

And why are miners payed less? Physical labour and they receive the lowest rations? Can I power through? I've had this book for so long I feel I have to

The story feels like its wrapping up (or should be), why are we adding new locations and characters I don't care about. What could possibly happen in 100 pages?

This book is going to emotionally destroy me. I can already tell.
