So far he is giving an overview of the more famous writers of the past that advocated for Utopian society. I think he is trying to lay the foundation. Hobbes Leviathin was the most recent ch. which was proceeded by Thomas Mores Utopia and Plato’s Republic. Levin describes how this goes against the evidence of human nature and history and describes the logical flaws within their thinking.

levin goes over Thomas Moore’s Utopia book that represented radical egalitarianism. He reviews why it strips the individual of everything and ignores very practical problems with this type of system. Levin thinks Moore wrote it for the concerns in the era he was living in. The gentleman Moore is where the term Utopia was coined; a fictional place.
