The Vampyre - The oldest story in this collection makes me wonder how long people have feared the pale spectre of a vampire.

The Pit and the Pendulum - I am saved! Was a bit anticlimactic.

The Man Who Found Out - The secrets of the natural world were so outlandish that they could not be shared and so were swept away by a hypnotist - much like two well-known television shows were just a dream…

The Turn of the Screw - I have wanted to read this for a long time, and I find that I am mildly disappointed.

The crystal clarity that I attain upon reading a rounded passage by Henry James is, sadly and without any resounding doubt, as lost as the Dutch Elm trees are to a forest.

James is a wordy writer… Jury is out as to whether that adds to or takes away from the story itself.

The Turn of the Screw - Stepford children much?

Young Goodman Brown - How sad!

The Case of Lady Sannox - Holy Toledo!

Kerfol - I loved this! Until the end?

Dracula’s Guest - Creepy with an interesting ending

The Tell-Tale Heart - You mad man, you.

The last one in this series became so serious, and I feel like this one is headed down that same road. I hope my heart can handle it!
