This book is hard to get through lol
But i'm really enjoying it

The sense of dread I felt when reading of the exploration of the infinitely sprawling dark hallways of the Navidson's home was terrifying and I loved every second of it. Currently reading the mother's letters as suggested by the footnotes, and I'm hoping for something equally dreadful by the end of them.

I'm afraid I'm getting a little overzealous with my reading, but a lot of my CR is light so it's probably fine. This has been on my TBR for way too long anyways.
Def got my attention so far.

I'm finding more and more that this reads a lot like fanfiction. I also wish that less time was spent explaining small matters in excruciating detail. Hopefully that's just a peculiarity of the author and not the case for LNs as a whole.
Might DNF this and read the manga instead.

Thought I'd give some LNs a try. Writing in this one so far isn't great (kind of middle school novel tier, I'd say?), but the MC is super cute, it's set in a Victorian era style magical world, and I like the premise enough, so it's balancing out.

The men in this book are creepy jerks. Rest of it is really enjoyable, though. The enchanted dress and the way it reacts to Scarlett's emotions is so something I would've put in my high school fanfic, but I love it anyways.

Beautiful book so far. Physically, that is. Can't comment too much on writing or plot yet, but wow is the father a scumbag. I hope he gets his comeuppance ten times over.

I haven't been able to put this down at all. It's an adorably told story, and I feel my heart racing with a mixture of fear and happiness every time Maddy puts herself in danger for love. I hope everything turns out okay. 😭

I believe I'm starting to get a feel for Dickinson's peculiarities and her unconventional style. It's raw, poignant, but also whimsical and fleeting--much as how Higginson describes. Her words soar and then drop off as quickly as they came; introspections both unbridled and unfinished much like the sketch of a painting. I enjoy it immensely, though I enjoy her tendency to begin and cease rhyming at a whim less so.
