I’ve been a rut (in multiple areas of life) lately. So I’m really glad to find a path through the jungle and to feel capable of progress.

I’ve fallen so deeply in love with this prose. It skips on by with such ease. It’s so comfortable and elegant. It features such wonderful turns of phrase. It’s that kind of beauty you double take or stare deeply at.

How does she do this? How does she write so well

This is incredible prose

Now I’m thinking, would anyone tell stories about me when I die? Even more existentially. Is anyone telling stories about me right now?

I’m really enjoying this. I think there’s something about books on non fiction audio storytelling. They are just so clear with their methods. Of all the books about storytelling I’ve read, non fiction audio is the best at demystifying what they do.

These are great stories of horrors when I let myself imagine these realities. It's still one of my biggest fears to lose myself before I lose my life

I listened to a podcast episode where someone played their instrument during brain surgery, because the surgery risked eroding their appreciation for music. It's so interesting, these stories that show the power of musicality in our lives. Witnessing how completely helpless Dr P was without musicality really sparked something in my own brain. I do feel, in my own life, a great dependence on music.

When I bought this (and there was quite a bit of logistic to getting it), I did not realize it was specifically about moth style personal story telling. I’m not keen on telling anymore stories about myself but im enjoying the process of imagining how to turn these thoughts outward.

Works of art are of an infinite loneliness…

One of those where it is evident almost immediately that I shall return to these pages.

I've just gotten to the section on the Oyo kingdom and its small obsession with honour suicides, and let me just say "hmmmmmmmmm"

So far an incredibly fascinating book. I’m so genuinely excited about history

Reminded that this book deserved to be the spectacular best seller it was

My first reread in 10 years. Reminded why i read it so much when I first found it. And why I recommended it so often. It’s so easy to read.
