I didn’t want this book to end. Historical novels get me every time. Excellent fictional story of real-life events Well done Mr McBride!

Written in the style of Hillenbrand's "Unbroken", this historical account of the 1936 Olympic rowing team, and of Joe Rantz in particular, is extremely well-written and captivating -- even for this sports non-enthusiast! The snippets from boat builder George Yeoman Pocock at the head of each chapter are brilliant and thought-provoking. Well done The Other Dan(iel) Brown!

What a story. I've just met the character named Hobie (the name of my late dog). I could stay up all night reading this book!

I thought this was an unsolved crime story, but it was really a memoir. Had a hard time getting past the author's brief sentences. Just write, for Pete's sake!! It's like he wrote notes in a notebook and just published that. Was not impressed by the attempt at cleverness.

Disconcerting. The way. This author uses short sentences. To get his point across. However. I'll probably finish. This book. Tonight. Because it goes. Really fast.

For heaven's sake, man, write a paragraph!! OMG, it's like reading a book in text-message format. It's like he literally wrote down his notes in a notebook while doing his research, & then just published the notes!! Good read so far though.

I'm giving this book four stars because of the author's unique writing style. But....This story is so depressing!! I can't imagine there being a happy ending. On page 165 and it just keeps getting sadder and sadder!

Edge of Eternity takes place from 1960 (the year I was born) through 1989 -- it was interesting to read historical fiction based on events that occurred during my own lifetime. Good job, as always, Mr. Follett. Now, the question is: will he continue the series (or start a new one) from 1989 through the present?! I can hardly wait to see what's next.
