Had to laugh bc my local library categorized this in the children's section.
Anyway, I still enjoy it so far.

This is shaping up so far to be better than the previous book.

Truthfully, it picks up a little when Dorothy comes along but holy crap what a slog of a book...

I can just picture some parent out there pearl clutching about some of the topics touched on in this book I got from the children's section lol.

Mame's taste in music goes crazyyy. Mission of Mercy was definitely better than the previous chapters at least.

The Beau arc was so. Beauring.

I don't normally juggle reading two books at once but I needed a more serious read to balance out the Mame.

Some of the 50s humor definitely sets off cringe panic alarm bells but Auntie Mame is simply the best to ever do it.

I don't think I've ever thought about how much of a surveillance state the slave states were. Like you can't say literally anything to a white person without being snitched on. And you can't trust so-called abolitionist because what if they're actually spies trying to get you in trouble?

I put this on my huge reading list almost a year ago and by freak coincidence I just happened to start it on Feb 1st. Definitely required reading.
