I think I'm gonna finish this book just to finish it and not because I'm particularly enjoying it

Idk if I'm vibing with the writing style or just the pace of the story, it's ok but I'm not really feeling compelled to keep going.

This book isn't cozy like the previous two were and I really enjoy that, this is a fun road trip / adventure story, the stakes are not world ending but are important to the people involved, getting a Focus on Fern from Bookshops and Bonedust has been a neat change of perspective of someone from that normal life setting out into one of adventure.
Also Zyll is enjoyable every time she speaks, love a chaos goblin.

Decided to do a re-read after Bookshops and bonedust

Fun read,

The plot is starting to happen but man I almost sent even care / want it to, I'm just enjoying the relaxing in the book shop and the beginnings of flirting with the gnome at the bakery

It's after a bunch of high stakes stuff to be reading something cozy again!
It's a prequel too Legends and Lattes so we don't get more time at the cafe, but Viv hanging around a bookshop has been fun and it's so far a book about reading books and that's a fun idea.

It's funny, This book is both faithful and unfaithful at the same time, the events are different, there are things happening that don't happen in the movie, but it doesn't change the overall feel, and experience of the story and that's how the movie stays faithful because sure there is no scene where they have to row away from the T-Rex in an inflatable raft, the tension of the park going wild still persists.

There are 35 velociraptors, that's alot of raptors.
Again the differences from the movies is interesting

I'm now convinced Tim only exists so Crichtoncan have a character to glaze over when they are discussing the details of cloning dinosaurs so Crichton doesn't have to fully explain how dinosaurs are made.
Also the movie version of the explanation of science scene is better.

I said it before but I really like in comparison to the movie how the books shows how much of a bad idea this has all been from the start before the dinos even break out, past examples of cloned animals are sickly and poor tempered, the hotel is built as a fortress, there are toxic plants next to the pool.

The book is not hiding how bad of an idea all of this is.

I do like how the book starts, it's showing that the boat was leaking from the very beginning.

I feel like every time this books gives me an answer it just raises further questions
